Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan participated in the opening ceremony of the modernized Ninotsminda customs checkpoint on the Armenian-Georgian border.
President of SRC Rustam Badasyan, welcoming the attendees, emphasized that the constructive partnership between Armenia and Georgia includes many important directions of interstate relations, including high-level cooperation in the customs sector. “In this context, we attach great importance to the steps aimed at the modernization of the customs checkpoints operating on the Armenian-Georgian border, as an important pledge for the development of trade and economic relations between our countries, the improvement and facilitation of the chain of goods circulation, as well as the development of transit capacities, in particular, on the road connecting Armenia to the Black Sea.” Rustam Badasyan noted.
The follow-up works towards the implementation of many ambitious programs included in the bilateral cooperation agenda in the customs sector continue to be actively implemented.
The President of the SRC highlighted the importance of On the basis of the protocol signed between the RA State Revenue Committee and the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, the full application of the initial electronic data exchange system already implemented between the two states regarding the international transportation of vehicles and goods, as an important tool for implementing joint customs control and facilitating and increasing the efficiency of that control.
At the same time, Rustam Badasyan expressed confidence that the memorandum signed between the State Revenue Committee of RA and the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia on the readiness to implement the use of electronic parking on loaded vehicles will also be fully and effectively implemented by mutual agreement.
The President of the SRC emphasized the high level of mutual trust-based cooperation between the two countries, wishing for effective work towards the full operation of the newly opened checkpoint.
