“No one understands anything about Nikol Pashinyan’s policy, and the President of Azerbaijan Aliyev also announced this, saying that due to conflicting information from official Yerevan, they are unable to form an idea about Armenia’s positions. In other words, no one can understand Nikol Pashinyan’s positions in international relations, because it is really difficult to understand a person who simultaneously agrees with the proposals presented by Azerbaijan, Washington, Brussels, Moscow, and Tehran.” 168TVof Revue said during the program Former Ambassador of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan.
Alen Simonyan, who considers himself one of the most pro-Russian authorities in Armenia, said that the expectations from the CSTO were not met, that’s why the document was not signed. We asked Edgar Ghazaryan whether it is possible for the current authorities to use all this to start the process of withdrawing from the CSTO, or as Peskov stated, Armenia will of course remain in the CSTO, despite the fact that not everything has been successful. to agree.
“First of all, the fact that these authorities have long wanted Armenia to leave the CSTO, and have spoken about it in high-level statements, is not new. Moreover, before being elected to the post of Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, as the leader of the “Exit” faction, co-authored a draft of the NA statement, which stipulated that Armenia should leave the CSTO and EAEU. Then, when he came to power, he filled the Security Council of Armenia with figures who have pronounced anti-Russian sentiments.
Even today, half of the 9 members of our Security Council were distinguished by active anti-Russian actions before taking their positions. Nikol Pashinyan has formed around him a format of extra-parliamentary forces chosen with an incomprehensible methodology, where almost all the included figures, whom it is difficult to call politicians, have pronounced anti-Russian sentiments. This proves that Armenia, in the face of the current authorities, is essentially hostile towards the key CSTO countries, including Russia. In hostile conditions, they expect the attitude and support of a strategic partner. Such a thing cannot happen,” he said in response.
To the observation, Alen Simonyan said that they are one of the most pro-Russian authorities in Armenia, he responded: “I don’t want to comment on what Alen Simonyan said. Who is speaking? The Speaker of the National Assembly, who needs a doctor, because according to today’s law changes, a personal doctor is planned for him. His opinions may be of interest to his doctor, because the specific specialization of the doctor is not mentioned.”
According to Edgar Ghazaryan, the aim of the current authorities is to incite tension in the country.
He answered the question: How is this tension beneficial to them? “They, in my deep conviction, serve the Azeri-Turkish agenda, and it is beneficial for the Azerbaijani-Turkish interests that Armenia opposes its strategic allies, including Russia. I have studied Nikol Pashinyan’s meetings, visits and telephone conversations during the last year with official messages. After the special military operation carried out by Russia in Ukraine, Nikol Pashinyan’s contacts, meetings and telephone conversations are mainly with the countries that are currently at actual war against Russia. Add to that the schedule of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, and the picture will be complete at once.
Now, don’t those people, as our CSTO partners, have the opportunity to follow all that? They follow and see how you treat them, and the attitude of that organization is formed accordingly. They make it a reason for us to form anti-Russian sentiments and anti-Russian propaganda. Even today, Alen Simonyan, even before taking over the duties of his doctor, said that CSTO wants to leave this region, etc. In other words, why does he want it, if it is not your wish, but CSTO’s, what changed in CSTO’s policy? It is clear that these changes are being made in their policy, forming anti-Russian sentiments.”
Edgar Ghazaryan emphasized that we are facing the greatest disaster. “No one is punishing and holding Azerbaijan responsible for its actions. The only possible way to prevent all this is a change of government. it cannot be a guarantee either, because the severity of the situation is high, but it is obvious that in the case of this government, a guaranteed destructive war awaits us.”
