New Delhi, August 5: The next Vice President will be officially announced by Saturday evening. The members of both houses of the Parliament will use their vote to elect the Vice President. Former West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar is contesting on behalf of the NDA alliance, while Margaret Alva is contesting on behalf of the opposition. It is said that his victory is symbolic in view of the support of Dhankard. It is noteworthy that the Trinamool Congress, which complained that they were not consulted about Alva’s selection, will stay away from the vote.
Parties like Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Aam Aadmi Party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Majlis expressed support for Alva.
