MONTEVIDEO, Mar 21 (UYPRESS) – This Thursday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mario Benedetti Room of the Casa del Autor, Tiatucura, the seventh book by Juan Carlos Raffo, will be presented, which, on this occasion, is published by the publisher Random House Mondadori.
Tiatucura brings together six stories, in a kind of personal anthology. According to the press release provided by the publisher, two very different literary aspects are intermingled in them. The first, extremely elaborate, masterful, with a solid rein, uses the best modern narrative resources. They are stories that surprise, move, and ask for a rereading: the protagonists will live with the reader for a long time, leaving their mark. The second, more playful and anecdotal, appeals to humor, to the descriptive traits of characters belonging to clearly identifiable groups. Both aspects make up a book of singular quality.
Juan Carlos Raffo was born in Montevideo on August 4, 1946. He dedicated himself to business activities in commerce and industry until 1989.
He was elected, under the National Party motto, senator of the Republic for the period 1990-1995 and national representative for Montevideo for the period 1995-2000. From March 1993 to June 1994 he served in the Executive Power, as Minister of Transportation and Public Works. He currently works as a parliamentary adviser.
