Winemaking is transported to the mountains. 2080 meters above the sea level, near Smbataberd և Tsakhats stone, is the organic vineyard of “Maran” company.
Maran is the first private wine producer in independent Armenia and is now one of the pioneers in organic winemaking.
Avag Harutyunyan, the founder of “Maran” company, when he was planting an organic garden with his sons, knew that the expenses would be higher, the difficulties would be many. We need reliable partners who would go all the way together.
“Maran” participated in the “Organic Agriculture Development” program jointly implemented by ACBA Bank և German Nature Conservation Association (NABU) and received a certificate of organic wine producer.
“When we planted this garden, we knew from the beginning that we were under a lot of weight. You have to grow long enough to have a harvest later. Were it not for the support provided by ACBA Bank and NABU, we would hardly be able to get out of this situation. We planted the garden without touching any bushes or stones. We tried not to touch the landscape. “We used only organic materials to grow a healthy, beautiful and high-quality crop,” says Avag Harutyunyan, the founder of “Maran” company.
“Maran” is now exported to more than ten countries: Australia, Taiwan, China, Czech Republic, Poland, Netherlands, France, USA and other countries.
