The Yeraskh-Julfa-Ordubad-Meghri-Horadiz railway project is described by Tadevos Avetisyan, a member of the opposition “Armenia” faction, as vague populism.
Even on the day when the program was praised, the authorities still don’t have an assessment of the project’s launch and progress, Avetisyan said during the “Interview with Karlen Aslanyan” program of Azatutyan, stressing that “the Turks were also shooting at the frontline the other day, and from the very areas where, according to the authorities, the railway is needed.” will pass.” The opposition deputy stressed that security issues are the most important.
“It is better for you to send your cargo in a safe way, a little more expensive, than to send it, etc. Secondly, the most important issue that they say so much about is that they predict and expect economic effects, if it is not populism, it is reality, why don’t they also mention the factor that cargo will pass through this road, but which cargo? it will pass. The cargo that now enters Armenia from Iran and goes to Georgia, that is, a part of the same cargo will pass that way, that is, the 500 kilometers that pass through the territory of Armenia, a part of it will go only through the territory of Armenia, that is 40 km will be covered by the road, let them take this into account if they make a general assessment”, said the opposition MP, stressing that he would certainly not put money into this project.
“When the shadow becomes a registered workplace, there is no positive social impact”
Yesterday, during the government session, the head of the executive announced that in December 2021, 659 thousand 471 jobs were registered. Nikol Pashinyan considered this an absolute record in the history of the third republic.
To the question whether this is a proof of the government’s good work, the opposition MP answered that when the number of registered workplaces increases, it is a positive phenomenon, but when a hidden or shadow workplace becomes a legally registered workplace, there is no positive social impact.
“It was the same person with the same salary and so on. Of course, the positive thing is that the state budget will also be paid taxes. Newly created jobs and vacancies are registered by the state body. When you look at that statistic, it’s a very small part. they are not tens of thousands. Of the vacancies, let’s say up to 1,000 are newly created jobs, 2-3 thousand at best, those are the vacancies that are registered in the agency, there is a separate line: registration of newly created jobs, they are very small numbers, a few hundred. annually. It is not possible to present incomplete information in any case, because the authorities of the day should be the most responsible. Now, look at how many problems I said, but it didn’t sound like that, and if they are not heard and the citizen hears that number, he thinks, “Well, maybe everyone has already become an employee, he himself remained unemployed,” Avetisyan said.
