Presidents of Ukraine and Moldova Vladimir Zelensky and Maia Sandu spoke on June 27 at a meeting in Kyiv about economic cooperation between the two countries. Sandu told about this in Kyiv at a press conference, which broadcast on Zelensky’s Facebook page.
“Moldova is a small country with modest tools, but we are ready to provide support in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. During our conversation, we discussed economic cooperation, paying special attention to common concerns in the energy sector,” she said.
According to Sandu, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in order to ensure the energy security of the two states.
Zelensky said that Moldova would send a unit of sappers to Ukraine to help clear mines in the country, and said that Ukraine would help Moldova with the reconstruction of the railway. He also thanked Moldova for helping Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes because of the war.
Sandu added that Ukraine and Moldova will work together to implement the reforms necessary for EU accession.
“And we are confident that we can cope with all the challenges in order to achieve this goal,” she stressed.
