One person has died following explosions in kyiv’s Podilskyi district, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said late on Sunday.
The explosions affected the Podil neighborhood of the Ukrainian capital, including residential and commercial areas, Klitschko said. The Podil neighborhood is part of the larger Podilskyi district of the city.
The explosions reached “some houses and in the territory of one of the shopping centers.” Rescue teams, paramedics and police are already on the scene,” Klitschko said via Telegram.
Video surveillance footage from the Retroville mall also confirms the intensity of the attack.
Also via Telegram, Klitschko said that rescuers are extinguishing a large fire in one of the shopping centers in the Podilskyi district of the capital.
