The federal deputy and one of those responsible for the social media strategy of Lula’s campaign, André Janones (Avante/MG), used Twitter to communicate that he will file a “request for the Minister of the Federal Court of Accounts, Mr João Augusto Ribeiro Nardes, appear before the Chamber to provide clarifications on his coup statements”. The post was also made this Monday, 21.
In the audio, the minister claims that he spoke with President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and that the military would be preparing a coup to prevent the inauguration of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The minister states, in the same recording, that “in a matter of hours, days, at most, a week, two, maybe less than that (there will be) a very strong outcome in the nation, unpredictable, unpredictable”. According to other TCU ministers heard by the Estadãothe audio sent by Nardes to a group of agribusiness representatives is “pure bluff”.
In a note sent to Estadãothe TCU press office claims that Nardes regrets the interpretation of an “unpretentious hastily recorded” audio for a group of friends and that the minister repudiates “anti-democratic manifestations and coup plotters”.

“Minister Augusto Nardes deeply regrets the interpretation given to an unpretentious audio hastily recorded and directed to a group of friends. So that there are no doubts, he clarifies that he peremptorily repudiates demonstrations of an anti-democratic nature and coup plotters, and reiterates his defense of legality and of republican institutions.”
