Bangalore: The Union Home Ministry has directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the murder case of Praveen Nettaru, a BJP youth leader from Bellare village of Sulya Taluka of Dakshina Kannada district. Orders have been issued to this effect. The Karnataka government has asked the central government to investigate Praveen’s murder case through NIA. With this, the Additional Secretary to the Union Government, Vipul Alok wrote a letter to the Director General of the NIA. The letter was sent to the Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka and the State DGP.
On July 26, Praveen, who runs the Akshaya Fresh Chicken shop at Masti Katte in Bellare, was hacked to death by some people. The state police have already arrested several people in this case. Those hiding in Kerala and Bangalore were arrested. Now that the NIA has entered the field, there is a possibility of investigation from different angles.
