The British government has blocked all assets of the Russian, Roman Abramovich, as he has already decided that anyone interested in buying Chelsea should go through the UK institutions. It all came after the start of the Russian war on Ukrainian soil.
However, according to the Spanish newspaper AS, the London Blues are not the only ones in the “magnifying glass” of the British government. The situation in Manchester City is also being closely monitored. The owner of “Citizens” is Sheikh Mansour bin Zayd Al Nahyan, who also serves as a minister in the United Arab Emirates. Last week, Mansour met with Bassar al-Asaad, President of Syria and ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This meeting between the parties was held without the permission of the government and now sanctions can be imposed on Manchester City.
