The Vitoria Guimaraes of the Portuguese first division confirmed this Monday the signing of the Venezuelan defender Michael Villanueva.
“It is a big club in Portugal. It is a challenge that I needed at this point in my career and I am very happy to be here to help the club. Football here is lived in a different way from how it is lived in other teams“, commented the defender to the official portal of the Portuguese club.
Villanueva, 29 years old, arrived from Santa Clara with a contract until June 2025.
“The operation does not involve financial compensation and Vitória keeps 100% of the player’s economic rights“, specified the official note of the new team of the tachirense.
Vitória will face the UEFA Europa Conference League this season, in which they will debut on July 21 against the Hungarian Puskás Akadémia, in the second qualifying round.
