CANELONES (Uypress) – Minister Pintado, the interim mayor of Canelones, Gabriela Garrido, and the mayor of Paso Carrasco, Luís Martínez, supervised the widening works of the Camino Carrasco double lane.
The authorities toured the works that are being carried out on the widening of Camino Carrasco and the boulevard of the Canarian coast. The value of the works is US$ 8 million on Camino Carrasco, with a completion date at the end of 2012, and US$ 3 million on the waterfront promenade, ending at the end of July.
The works consist of widening the carriageways of each road by a section of four kilometers. They will be 7.80 meters wide and have shoulders, on each side of a raised bed, 1.20 meters wide with curbs. The main street will have an asphalt layer 14 centimeters thick, drainage and auxiliary roads. In addition, pedestrian shelters will be built at the bus stops on both sides of the avenue. The estimated term for the completion of the work is the end of 2012.
