Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia և Yerjan Mol’s “World Without Waste” joint initiative was launched today.
This partnership is a step towards improving waste management systems in Armenia by supporting local initiatives to create a culture of waste collection and recycling. The culture of waste sorting is important for the correct behavior of the society, raising awareness and developing a waste management system.
The project is supported by “ISD Innovative Sustainable Community Development Solutions” NGO, which is engaged in the installation of sorting bins and recycling of sorted waste. As part of the initiative, sorting bins will be installed in different parts of Yerevan Mall, through which it will be possible to separate paper, plastic and other types of waste. 28 sorting pots will be available in different parts of Yerevan Mall.
Elina Margaryan, Coca-Cola HBC Armenia Public Affairs and Stability Director, Shushan Avagimyan, Business Development Director of Yerjan Mall, Mkhitar Avetisyan, Co-Founder and President of ISD NGO, spoke at the event.
“The world without waste concept is one of the key areas of corporate social responsibility of” Coca-Cola HBC Armenia “company, as the company greatly promotes the formation and strengthening of the culture of waste management and recycling in Armenia. Cooperation with our partners is very important not only in business, but also in similar initiatives implemented within the framework of CSR. We hope that this initiative will further strengthen and expand the scope of cooperation. “We continue to implement numerous programs aimed at sustainable waste management, circular economy development,” said Elina Margaryan, Coca-Cola HBC Armenia Public Affairs and Sustainability Director.
Shushan Avagimyan, Business Development Director of “Yerjan Mall”, noted that the launch of the “World without Waste” program will have a great impact on shopping malls, as such places have thousands of daily visitors, who, seeing the sorting dishes, will learn to sort the waste correctly. They will serve their surroundings.
Thus, the launch of the “World without Waste” program in “Yerjan Mall” is a step in terms of creating a culture of waste sorting, educating and raising public awareness among the Armenian society. We are full of hope that the initiative will receive a positive response, various business organizations will have the opportunity to join the latter, expanding the scope of cooperation.
