Caracas.- Journalist José Luis Yépez will share this Thursday, June 30, his insights on the challenging circumstances that journalism has had to face in Venezuela in the past and present, in an open online forum organized by the Civil Association Medianalisis, on the occasion of the celebration of the next June 27 the Day of the Journalist.
The meeting “Venezuelan journalism: challenges of yesterday and today” will be held via streaming under the leadership of the also journalist and director of Medianalysis, Andrés Cañizález.
Cañizález and Yépez will talk about the threats faced by the practice of journalism in the past years and will do comparative analysis exercises around the realities that communication professionals face today.
The press in Venezuela has a long history, from relevant moments of achievement to threats and persecution of the media and their workers, a topic that will also be served at the table of this virtual conference.
José Luis Yépez has worked for 33 years in print media, radio, television and even in management consulting, for which he has a long career, in addition to standing out as a professor of social communication at the Fermín Toro University.
Yépez has also had the opportunity to hold important union positions as general secretary of the National College of Journalists CNP, Lara Section, and as president of the Radio Chamber, Central Western Chapter.
With a Post-doctorate in Free Studies, José Luis Yépez Rodríguez has a doctorate in Advanced Management, a Master’s degree in Corporate Communication, with a diploma in Communication Management and is widely recognized for his television program En Contacto, broadcast by the regional channel PromarTV.
