The company Lemon Casha cryptocurrency platform that operates in the local market, announced the dismissal of 38% of its employees in the subsidiaries of Argentina and Brazil.
The measure, which affects around a hundred people, was made public this Thursday by the CEO and founder of the company, Marcelo Cavazzolliindicated the agency Noticias Argentinas.
“Today I have sad news to share with you, the one that no entrepreneur wants to give. Decided to reduce our team size by 38%“said the businessman on his social networks.
Cavazzolli said he felt “great pain for many people who trusted the project and me, and that today they will not be able to continue accompanying us on this path. However, I have to make a series of decisions that ensure Lemon’s mission in the long term”.
Laying off staff is such a “difficult and unwanted decision that is not made in a matter of weeks. This was the way to go and we’ve known it for some time,” admitted the manager.
At the same time, he commented that during the first days of November, “after publicly knowing the problems facing FTX/Alameda (another crypto platform) Lemon withdrew all user funds and removed them as an option for the Earn service.”
But he clarified that “this had no no impact on users nor does it represent a significant amount for the company”.
