MONTEVIDEO, Aug 23 (UYPRESS) – This Wednesday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m., the exhibition of paintings by Hermenegildo Sábat “Heroes of dependency” will be inaugurated, made up of 82 oil paintings on canvas that will be exhibited at Fundación Unión.
Hermenegildo menchi Sábat (Montevideo 1933) is one of the most striking personalities of the culture of the Southern Cone. A resident of the city of Buenos Aires since 1966 and an Argentine citizen since 1980, it has been more than 25 years since his journalistic comments in the form of caricatures were published in the Buenos Aires morning paper Clarín, where he rose as a prestigious reference, especially in periods in which that freedom of expression was seriously limited.
Plastic artist and teacher, he has published twenty books about his passions: painting, music, literature, Argentine and international news.
On Wednesday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m., with the presence of the artist, the exhibition of paintings “Heroes of dependency” will be inaugurated, a series made up of 82 oil paintings on canvas measuring 50 by 60 centimeters that will be exhibited at the Contemporary Cultural Space of the Fundación Unión, in Plaza Independencia 737 (Montevideo).
On Friday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m., the public will be able to talk with menchi Saturday in the same place of the exhibition.
