The Foo Fighters just lost their iconic drummer. Taylor Hawkins who was in the group for 25 years has just died during their tour.
The Foo Fighters are in mourning. The announcement was posted on social media. The rock band’s Twitter account reads: The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins”. The drummer was also a family man, leaving behind his wife and three children. A family to which the Foo Fighters also refer: “Our hearts are with his wife, children and family.”. They ask that the intimacy of the family be “treated with the utmost respect in this incredibly difficult ordeal”.

The Foo Fighters, like the entire music community, are in shock. The band was on a full South American tour. They were all due to play in Bogota at the time of the Death of Taylor Hawkins. Tragic news for all fans too. The sudden announcement was not commented on by the authorities. The cause of Taylor Hawkins’ death remains unknown at this time. Taylor Hawkins began his career with Alanis Morrissette. He then joined the rock band at the request of Dave Grohl. The ex-Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters singer made no secret of his longtime connection with Taylor Hawkins.

Following the Foo Fighters tweet, the reactions in the music world have multiplied. Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello shared a photo of him and Taylor Hawkins with a simple “God bless you”. Miley Cyrus, fan of the group, also shared a photo captioning “This is how I will always remember you” before announcing that she would dedicate her next concert to the memory of Taylor Hawkins.
