“DigiTech 2017”. An essential platform for IT companies
The 13th annual DigiTech technology exhibition started today in Yerevan. The goal of the largest technological exhibition in the region is to create a favorable environment between high-tech companies, business consumers and society, to expand international cooperation, to present the real picture of the Armenian ICT field, to introduce achievements, existing challenges and prospects.
RA President Serzh Sargsyan, Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan and other high-ranking guests participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
ICT Minister Vahan Martirosyan mentioned in his speech that “DigiTech” is expanding every year, new solutions are offered. “The clear proof of this is that around 150 companies are participating in the exhibition, presenting their solutions. “One of the proofs of the development of DigiTech is also the fact that dozens of foreign companies are participating and the scope of cooperation is expanding more and more.”
In his words, conferences will be held within the framework of “DigiTech”, in particular, Armenian-Japanese and Armenian-Canadian conferences are already planned, within which, according to Vahan Martirosyan, the prospects of development and cooperation in the field of information technologies will be discussed.
Director of Ucom company Hayk Yesayan also said that it is a great honor for their company to sponsor such an event, which has already become a technological holiday. “The solutions that are relevant for the world today are also born in Armenia. This is a very important step for our country and for our small companies that are able to present themselves at a high level. “DigiTech” is an important platform for IT companies, which will have its own place in the world in the future.”
According to Hayk Yesayan, today we live in an era where there is almost no sphere where there is no need to involve information technologies. And Ucom, according to him, is one of the companies that opens a cooperation platform for all small and medium-sized companies operating in the field of information technologies.
Karen Vardanyan, the executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises, also said that companies interested in the framework of “DigiTech” will discuss with the Ministry of Defense the formats of cooperation between the technology sector and the army. He also mentioned that they have already developed projects that will be presented to the Ministry of Defense.
About 150 companies and 70,000 visitors from Japan, China, India, Sweden, Russia, the USA, Canada, Germany, Greece, etc. are expected to participate in the “DigiTech” exhibition this year. Among international companies, in particular, the famous Chinese Dahua Technology company, Japanese Hitachi Construction Machinery Eurasia, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and other companies, Swedish Ericsson, Danish Jabra, etc. will participate.
The three-day international technological exhibition will present innovative ideas and technological solutions of Armenian technologists, start-ups and other companies, as well as schoolchildren, the latest trends and innovations of the market, business meetings, various competitions, forums, seminars will be held, in addition, information about vacancies will be presented.
It should also be noted that the 10th robot championship and three-dimensional modeling competition of the “Armat” network of engineering laboratories will be presented within the framework of the exhibition.
