TooGood to Go – Save Food, Help the Planet
Available on both Google Play and Apple Store, the app allows you to avoid food waste. By registering, in fact, you can buy unsold food, but in excellent condition, from your favorite shops. In this way you will buy the goods at a reduced price, while still helping the environment. The app boasts a community of 5.5 million people and 21,311 shops, restaurants, bars, hotels and bakeries participating in the initiative, for a total of 6 million meals saved, to date, in Italy.
By entering the postcode of the residence or office, you will have access to all local distributors. By selecting the store it will be possible to shop and receive home delivery in Rome, directly from your trusted supermarket.
On the same wavelength, the innovative startup, with a social vocation, has created a digital social market devoted to anti-waste. The process is simple: the shopkeeper, when fresh food near the deadline, sends discounted offers to avoid food waste. LastMinuteSottoCasa therefore avoids producing unnecessary waste and helps reduce food waste. The success of the application has allowed the developers to expand also towards large retailers.
The large food distribution chains in Italy have already chosen to join this application, available on Google Play and Apple Store. With the same principle as the previous ones, it is possible to access offers dedicated not only to foods close to expiry, even those that are defective. This service guarantees collection on site, in the nearest supermarket.
