The Venezuelan authorities detected 112 new cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hoursall by community transmission, reported the executive vice president of the Maduro regime, Delcy Rodríguez.
«The Presidential Commission for the Prevention, Care and Control of Covid-19 informs the people of Venezuela that in the last hours a total of 112 new infections were registered in the country, all by community transmission«, indicated Rodriguez on his Twitter account.
The state with the most cases was Lara with 28, followed by Zulia (26), Yaracuy (14), Aragua (11), Caracas (10), Miranda (8), La Guaira (3), Táchira, Portuguesa, Bolívar, Guárico, Mérida and Nueva Esparta ( two).
This way, Venezuela reached 519,670 infections since the start of the pandemicalthough 98% of patients have recovered, leaving only 2,729 active cases.
On the other hand, Rodríguez reported that in the last 24 hours one more person died from covid-19 in Lara statebringing the number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 5,668.
Venezuela received on Thursday a sixth batch of vaccines against covid-19 made up of «more than 4,800.000 doses» of the Covax system, which coordinates the World Health Organization (WHO), reported the Minister of Health of the Maduro Administration, Magaly Gutiérrez, who assured that the country has obtained more than 61 million doses.
