Argentina already accumulates more than 100,000 cases of coronavirus


Argentina already accumulates more than one hundred thousand positive cases of coronavirus, after 2,657 new infections were confirmed this Sunday, while 27 new deaths from the pandemic were also reported and totaled 35 in the last 24 hours.

With these figures, a total of 735 people have died in the country since the start of the outbreak.

According to the evening report of the Ministry of Health, 1,633 of the new infections were reported in the province of Buenos Aires, which accumulates 53,661, while 754 were reported in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), where they totaled 38,335.

The health portfolio added that there are 735 hospitalized in intensive care units, with a percentage of adult bed occupancy of 52% in the country and 59.5% in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA).

Of the 100,166 infected, 42.62% (42,694) were discharged, according to data provided this morning.

92.66% (2,387 people) of those infected today (2,576) correspond to the City (29.27%) and the Province of Buenos Aires (63.39%).

According to the evening report, 18 men died, 10 residents in the province of Buenos Aires aged 56, 55, 42, 53, 68, 78, 72, 4, 57 and 41 years; 7 in the City of Buenos Aires from 97, 74, 48, 88, 77, 85 and 69; and one of 78 in the province of Río Negro; and 8 deceased women, 7 in the province of Buenos Aires aged 86, 72, 58, 37, 83, 77 and 56 years; and one of 69 in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA).

A 77-year-old person, resident in the City of Buenos Aires, was reported without data on sex.

The morning part specified that 5 men died, 4 in the province of Buenos Aires aged 61, 78, 91 and 69 years; one of 84 and a person of 81 who was reported without data of sex, residents in the City of Buenos Aires and 2 women in the province of Buenos Aires of 88 and 72 years.

Of the total infected, 1,081 (1.1%) are imported, 33,376 (33.3%) close contacts of confirmed cases, 48,213 (48.1%) cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation.

Today, 1,633 cases were registered in the province of Buenos Aires; in the City of Buenos Aires, 754; in Chaco, 25; in Chubut, 1; Cordova, 34; in Entre Ríos, 60; in Jujuy, 68; in La Rioja 4; in Mendoza, 14; in Neuquen, 17; in Rio Negro, 14; in Salta, 2; in Santa Cruz, 1; in Santa Fe, 23, in Tierra del Fuego 6, and Tucumán, 1.

Meanwhile, no infected were reported in Catamarca, Corrientes, Formosa, La Pampa, Misiones, San Juan, San Luis and Santiago del Estero.

The total accumulated by jurisdiction indicates that the province of Buenos Aires adds 53,661 cases; the City of Buenos Aires, 38,335; Catamarca, 39; Chaco, 2,577; Chubut, 206; Cordova, 916; Currents, 125; Between Rivers, 493; Formosan, 75; Jujuy, 462, and La Pampa, 7.

La Rioja reaches 140 cases; Mendoza, 295; Missions, 41; Neuquen, 693; Rio Negro, 1,096; Jump, 109; Saint John, 9; Saint Louis, 12; Holy Cross, 61; Santa Fe, 528; Santiago del Estero, 36; Tierra del Fuego, 160, and Tucumán, 90.

The Ministry clarified that a case reported in the province of Corrientes was reclassified to the province of Entre Ríos.

In addition, in Tierra del Fuego, 13 cases in the Malvinas Islands are included, according to press information, because due to the illegal occupation of the United Kingdom, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, it is not possible to have our own information on the impact of the Covid-19 in that part of the Argentine territory.
