In coordination with the Civil Association “El Samaritano”, the Youth Area held a double-shift day for secondary school students of the 57th street institution.
In order to address problematic consumption in youth, and the circle of other problems that this generates, a conference was organized in an articulated way between the municipal Youth Area and the Civil Association “El Samaritano”, aimed at secondary school students. No. 20, located in the building of Elementary School No. 2.
The activity consisted of a talk with 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students of said high school, both in the morning and in the afternoon, with the aim of continuing to establish and strengthen public policies that contribute to addressing the problems of teenagers.
This was explained by the deputy director of Youth, Valeria Garrido, when she gave her testimony after the evening talk. “The day was based on a workshop and a talk in which different problems in youth related to consumption, violence in young people and other problems that they go through and that seem extremely important to us to be able to address them in coordination with local institutions that are focused on these problems”, highlighted the official.
In this regard, he stressed the role of “El Samaritano”, “which is a civil association that works and deals with cases of problematic consumption, especially in adolescents”, and the person in charge of Youth appreciated that “we have had a very good reception for the exercise”.
Referring to the latter, he highlighted that “this approach not only allows adolescents to discuss, consult and make visible the problems that they experience on a daily basis, but also that teachers can count on backing and support from the municipality to be able to work this problem in young people.
Therefore, Garrido concluded that “we are very satisfied and believe that it is essential to think about and strengthen these public policies that contribute to having adolescents informed, that they know how to address the different problems and that there are places where they can approach, talk and tell with the support of different institutions to listen and help them”.
