Today, the Serbian athlete Angelina Topić was declared the best young athlete in Europe for 2022 in the selection of the European Olympic Committees.
The winner of the bronze medal from the European senior high jump championship, this year she also won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championship in Cali and the gold medal at the European Youth Championship in Jerusalem.
This year, Angelina Topić also performed at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, where she won ninth place.
“I am overjoyed at the award that will help me in my further career and in all future endeavors, and thank you all for being a part of this adventure of mine,” said Topić after the award presentation.
In addition to Topić, five other athletes competed for this prestigious award. The runner-up was the diver Andrea Spendolini Sirieks (Great Britain), the swimmer Filippo Bertoni (Italy) took the third place, the rower Sofia Dalidou (Greece) took the fourth place and the gymnast Daria Atmanov (Israel) took the last, fifth place. .

The “Pyotr Nurowski” award was established in 2010, named after the tragically deceased president of the Olympic Committee of Poland, and is awarded annually.
