His name had been on everyone’s lips since the departure of Jean de Loisy, who had not wished to renew his mandate. A new appointment has just been announced in the art world, a few days after that of Guillaume Désanges at the Palais de Tokyo: Alexia Fabre takes the head of the School of Fine Arts.
She had been director of the Mac/Val in Vitry-sur-Seine for seventeen years, the project of which she had thought about since 1998 in a singular spirit of utopia. With an ambitious programme, implemented by a loyal team, it has anchored the idea of cultural democratization. In 2009 and 2011, the Nuit blanche was also hers. Her commitment to artists and her qualities as chief heritage curator will be major assets in this multi-faceted house.
